Cult TV Shows

a few tv shows that i think qualify as "cult"...

red dwarf obviously a great one to start with, it's said to be BBC2's most-watched sitcom ever. its a like "the hitch-hiker's guide to tge galaxy" as it's a sci-fi comedy featuring the last human in the universe. in red dwarf the last human is Lister (played by craig charles), who likes curry & lager and playing guitar. he's on a spaceship with Kryten (the excellent robert llewellyn), a robot; Cat, a half-cat, half-human mutant; Rimmer, a hologram of another human; plus other characters such as Holly, the ship's computer, and an alien being called the Polymorph. the swearword commonly used on this show is "smeg", which now seems to have its own cult following.

restoration strangely enough, this modern history programme is actually cool. for a start is presented by griff rhys jones, who is cool, cos he used to be on...

not the nine o'clock news one of the funniest sketch shows ever! ran during the thatcher years and made names of many young comedians - not just GRJ above but also rowan atkinson, better known to the world as Mr Bean!

young, gifted and broke late-night talent show on ITV presented by Magenta DeVine (the black lady with huuuge sunglasses! and cocktails! she was cool!). they featured all kinds of talent - not just obvious talent-show stuff like music and stand-up comedy, but also fashion designers and film-makers.

...right that's it for now, might post more later...
